Product Data Management

PDM - Product Data Management is the forerunner to PDKM - Product Data Knowledge Management or PROMISE Data Knowledge Management.

PDM generally deals with all relevant design and production data as it relates to a specific BOM - Bill of Materials.

PDM will track changes to the BOM but falls short of keeping track of individual instances of items manufactured to the same version of the BOM.

PROMISE architecture distinguises itself by enabling all relevant product lifecycle data to be linked to individual instances of items manufactured to the same version of the BOM.

Traditional PDM expertise is an essential component of CL2M and for the time being are grouped here while the next section of the CL2M.com tool is being developed.
