Standards - Making standards work® with The Open Group

Contribution to standards was a major objective of the EU PROMISE project and a number of former project partners have been determined to further the development and acceptance of the initial architecture and interfaces developed during the project in collaboration with other similarly motivated organizations.

The Quantum Lifecycle Management (QLM) Consortium is taking advantage of the Plato site offered to qualified groups interested in forming consortia under the auspices of The Open Group.

The Open Group's Collaboration Services Team will help the group throughout its lifecycle: from formation - through standards development - to facilitating market impact of the group’s standards. We are pleased to offer the use of our collaboration tool set to the QLM Consortium to help focus their energies on solving their real business problems and ultimately helping the consortium in Making Standards Work^®.

The key objective of this group is to build on the PROMISE project achievements by further establishing and promoting relevant standardization activities. To accomplish this objective, the QLM Consortium is being formed under the auspices of The Open Group, an international vendor-neutral and technology-neutral consortium, to bring vendors and consumers together to continue the collaboration of the previous project and build on the prior achievements in the creation and promotion of open standards.
